I started drawing with a purpose in 1996. I wanted to really represent what I
saw. I focused those skills into watercolor in 2000. I gained experience
through watercolor workshops, how-to books, and many trying hours of practice.
I love watercolor. It interacts almost magically on paper in so many
ways. Its translucent nature allows me to bring out the inner glow my subjects
convey to me.
Portraits, whether they are of people or animals, are special to me.
They are intimate glimpses of a moment when I feel connected, even if from
afar, with another life.
Altogether, I feel that painting in general is just great fun and it
truly brings me joy. I work from both life and reference photos to help capture
the memory. I then work out all the kinks in my studio at my home.
Original watercolors, prints, and cards are available. I also do
commissioned paintings.
